I also would like to break down the cost for you so you can see that breeding (if you do it responsibly) is not cheap, most of us well respected breeders don't make as much money as a person who has a 9-5 job making average wages. Matter of fact there are many times we lose money.

None of these costs include food, toys, bedding, or bones. Also it doesn't include any unforeseen circumstances such as mommy's who need a c-section (last time I had 2 females with c-sections $1000.00 each) also we don't just use the money to take care of the puppies we also use it to take care of our breeding stock and their needs. And if the dogs are taken care of properly the prices that most reputable breeders charge are well justified.
